Diabetic Shoes

Here, at Foot & Ankle Partners of El Paso, we recognize and understand patients with diabetes have special needs. Of the sixteen million Americans with diabetes, 25% will develop foot problems related to the disease.

People with diabetes should pay special attention to their feet. Diabetic neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease and toe deformities such as bunions and hammertoes can result from diabetes. Unfortunately, these common complications can lead to unnecessary lower leg amputations. About 60% of non-traumatic lower-limb amputations among people aged 20 years or older occur in people diagnosed with diabetes.

At Foot & Ankle Partners of El Paso, we practice prevention and can provide you with preventative footwear. If you have diabetes and are experiencing foot problems, please make an appointment with one of our physicians.
