Jason Mendivil, DPM
Foot and Ankle Surgeon
Dr. Mendivil is a native El Pasoan and graduated from Americas High School in 2002, where he was an All-City football player.
He was recruited to play wide receiver at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics (Law Concentration) in 2006. At Trinity University, he was part of four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference championship teams (2002-2005) and was National Champion Runner-Up (2002) after participating in the Alonzo Amos Stagg Bowl. He pursued a professional football career, being picked up by the Austin Wranglers Arena Football Team and performed football stunts as a cast member of the "Friday Night Lights" television series.
He obtained his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida in 2013. He completed his residency training at the Southern Arizona Veteran Affairs Healthcare System hospital in Tucson, Arizona. He is a three year, surgically trained podiatric physician, specializing in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Mendivil returns home to El Paso where he has a particular interest in treating diabetic foot wounds and limb salvage, sporting injuries of the foot and ankle and total ankle replacements. He serves on the Editorial Board for Ostomy Wound Management (OWM) and is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association and the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.
He is a board member of the Horizon Falcons Youth Sports Organization, where he serves as a coach for his sons. He enjoys traveling, fishing, camping and down time with his wife Hope and children.
